More good news for Lents

Lents Projects

A key puzzle piece in the revitalization of Lents Town Center fell into place in early April with the purchase of the New Copper Penny property by Palindrome Communities, one of several developer teams PDC is working with on mixed-use projects in the area. The property at SE 92nd Avenue and Foster Road will be part of the Oliver Station project, with affordable and market-rate apartments and ground-floor commercial space.

Another project on the drawing board for Lents, the Asian Health & Service Center, announced in March that Oregon health company Family Care will give $2 million for the Center’s new facility at SE 91st Avenue and Foster Road. Dr. Erik Szeto, the Center’s board chair, said in a news release, “Through this grant, Family Care is demonstrating its commitment in reducing health disparities for Portland’s diverse and growing Asian population. The diagnosis of cancer is indeed a trying moment for patients, especially those who lack knowledge and support because of language and cultural barriers.”
